Impressed by his paintings, Phil was sent north to Lake Nash by Trevor Schmidt, managing director of Santa Gertrudis Australia and then president of the Royal Sydney Show. Working alongside legendary cattleman, Percy Crumblin, Phil looked to distil out the essence of King Ranch Australia’s Northern Territory prime breeding properties and chose a classic mob crossing the Georgina River as his subject for this iconic painting.
In recognition of the contribution by King Ranch in the development of the Santa Gertrudis breed in Australia, Phil released a Limited Edition of 500 copies of this time-honoured outback masterpiece.
