While Les Padman of Boolarong Publishers started the ball rolling, it was marketing astute, Russell Reed of SGBA who saw an opportunity with the Muster at Lake Nash print and requested the first 50.
Immediately following this, to advertise the print, I was walking past the QCL Rural Bookshop office a little lost, when Chris Burridge called out, “Can I help you?”
Looking at the Muster print, Chris realised its commercial potential to add to her vast offering of publications. Chris had a heart for the bush and an efficiency and loyalty to her customers that helped make the book shop a great flag ship for the brand.
This started a brilliant relationship and collaboration with Queensland’s ‘Bible of the Bush’ and later, The Land.
