THE WORK

The further one wanders into hidden corners of our vast interior, the more one is confronted with the ancient folklore of our past. Here and there unexpectedly to all but a few local cattlemen, one stumbles on deteriorating timber or stone buildings, silent and forlorn, decaying sentinels to a breed of tough, indomitable men and increasingly, their equally resilient partners. ‘Past Old Smithy’s Shack’ is Phil’s attempt to faithfully remind us of the privations suffered by those who have gone before.
