BRUMBIES RUN
“… the brumby horses turn and fly…” Because my subjects don’t stand and pose for me, my inspiration mostly comes from outback journeys and thousands of photos and videos taken in the bush. But when I first saw this image of running horses, it so impacted my imagination that paint literally flew onto the canvas. The blur of speed and power so epitomized Patterson’s great poem that I wanted them on my wall, to walk past them every day as they fly “back to the hills again.”
