Training dogs is a skilled and thoroughly demanding discipline. Having seen the interaction of ringers high energy pet dogs loose in the yards or around a mob, Phil thought he’d paint a scene where supervision is lacking and the boredom of the excited and preoccupied participants catches up with them in an unexpected way. In this painting, a quick witted, but bad-ass bluey, heads out of harms way, leaving his partner in crime to face the music.
